課程概述 |
This course is primarily a course of Spanish language; nevertheless its main aim is to introduce the most representative cultural achievements of Spanish Culture from the 16th century to the early 19th century (Renaissance, Baroque and Goya), in order to be experienced in a cultural field trip to Spain. Another objective is to understand the universality of art, since many of the artistic concepts, appreciation methods and iconography in Spain have counterparts everywhere, including Taiwan. Also, concepts of preservation, restoration, revitalization, etc., will be discussed in general and applied to the Taiwan setting. |
課程目標 |
The course goes from the Spanish Golden Century, or Siglo de Oro—Renaissance painters (El Greco) and architecture (El Escorial palace); Baroque painters (Velázquez)—to the greatest Spanish artist (Goya), who experienced the transition from the old Regimen to Liberalism, that is modernity. In other words, this course is the best preparation to visit the Prado Museum (Madrid), one of the most renowned museums in the world. Indirectly, the lessons deal also with the classical topic of the nature and psyche of the Spaniards, as portrayed by his painters. One excursion to the “palaces of Taipei” (like the Government Guest House, former residence of the Japanese Governor-General, or the Presidential Palace, or other ones) will be scheduled, in order to apply the content of the course to a local setting. The students will make two short presentations, with a particular method given by the teacher, of works already seen at class. |
